We have kickstarted our long-term growth plans with a brand refresh and new hire following the appointment of Recruitment Consultant, Aaron Dhillon.

Company overview

With our head office situated in the heart of London, we work with clients and candidates across the UK and worldwide. Our collective in-house expertise spans over 30 years and we pride ourselves on providing open and honest advice to candidates and clients when recruiting for roles within the tax and tax technology sector.

The business was successfully established in 2017 utilising managing director Mark Glubb’s 17 years’ experience working for a major tax recruitment company where he headed up the Private Practice and Private Banking recruitment team operating across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Time to re-brand

Coming into 2021, Mark felt that the time was right to kickstart the next stage of the Harris Glubb growth story – starting with a significant marketing investment. Updates to the brand began in earnest at the start of the year with Nottingham-based creative agency The Dairy brought on board to evolve Harris Glubb’s identity and improve its digital presence, as Mark goes on to explain.

“There’s a lot of activity and pent-up demand for people within tax and tax technology right now, so we saw this year as the perfect time to reinvigorate our brand and really invest in our marketing – particularly in the digital space,” explains Mark.

“We were searching for potential marketing partners both inside and outside of London when we came across The Dairy. We felt a real connection with the team – a shared ethos and a mirror image of ourselves, if you will. We loved The Dairy’s open and honest approach, its full service expertise and its high standing within the East Midlands and further afield. We commissioned a brand evolution to bring our identity up to date, as well as a redesign of our website to give our clients and customers an improved experience when working with us online.”

He continues, “Long-term, The Dairy will continue to support us with PR, design and digital marketing in order to increase brand awareness and maximise the opportunities that exist for us within the marketplace.”

Achieving business growth

Alongside the rebrand, Mark was keen to grow the team and hire a Recruitment Consultant who could focus on specialist tax areas and drive future success.

“We felt that the time was right to expand internally and put a new piece of the jigsaw into place. This will allow us to grow over the coming years and widen our in-house capabilities,” explains Mark.

“The position we needed to fill first was for someone responsible for recruiting in-house and practice roles in Financial Services Tax and M&A – including Private Equity Tax, Investment Management and Asset Management Tax, as well as wider Funds Tax.”

Following a successful recruitment process, Aaron Dhillon was appointed for the position – bringing eight years’ experience with leading recruiters as well as more than two years’ experience moving Financial Services Tax specialists within professional services and in-house.

Aaron is delighted to have joined the team at Harris Glubb and sees plenty of new opportunities on the horizon for the business.

“From the moment I first met with Mark and the team, I got a great feeling about the company and what it wanted to achieve. Harris Glubb is very ethical in its approach. It’s all about making a close connection with candidates and clients and forging long-term relationships through open and honest communication. This is really refreshing to see and I knew instantly that I wanted to be a part of it.”

He continues, “I’m really grateful to Mark for giving me the opportunity to build a market focused on Financial Services tax and M&A roles at Harris Glubb. I’m incredibly excited for what the future holds. We have the potential to target a range of new roles for companies and individuals in a very niche and complex sector. It’s a challenge I’m eager to take on.”

Mark delighted with new appointment

Mark shares Aaron’s sentiment and is optimistic for the future following a positive start to 2021.

“I am delighted that Aaron has joined us,” says Mark. “His network of contacts, experience, and professional and personable approach really stood out to us and he shares our vision for developing our expertise across specific markets at what is an exciting time in the company’s growth and expansion plans,”

He continues, “This year is shaping up to be very positive for us. We know where our strengths lie and, with Aaron on board, I can only see our market presence increasing and developing even further.”
